U.S. President Donald Trump urged Saudi Arabian officials to formally recognize Israel, emphasizing that such an action would be a significant tribute to him.
He remarked, “The Abraham Accords have been a marvelous initiative. It is my earnest hope, passionate wish, and even a dream that Saudi Arabia—a nation I deeply respect, especially with the remarkable achievements of the recent past—will join us,” Trump expressed during a compelling speech in Riyadh on Tuesday, with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman attentively observing.
“The kingdom will soon join the Abraham Accords. I believe it would be an immense honor for your country and a critical step for the promising future of the Middle East,” Trump stated with confidence. “I took a bold step in initiating them, and they have reaped incredible rewards for the participating nations,” he continued.
President Trump also pointed out that the Biden administration “did nothing for four years.” He further noted, “We were progressing, and when it happens eventually, it will be a remarkable occasion for the Middle East, with global attention focused on Saudi Arabia’s partnership.” He concluded by saying, “You will be paying tribute to countless individuals who have ardently strived for peace in the Middle East, making this truly monumental.”
Trump assured them that the kingdom “will act according to your timeline.”
