RAW-NDS nexus behind attack on Chinese nationals in Dasu: FM Qureshi
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday said that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) were involved in the Dasu incident in July.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said: “Afghanistan’s land was used for planning; planning and implementation are clearly linked to the RAW and NDS nexus.”
At least 12 people, including nine Chinese working on the Dasu Hydel Project, were killed when a bus carrying them fell into a ditch after an explosion.
FM Qureshi said that the car used in the attack was smuggled into Pakistan and the original intended target of terrorists’ was the Diamer-Bhasha dam site. Sharing the findings of the probe, the foreign minister further said: “The investigation also revealed that the terrorists’ primary target was the Diamer-Bhasha Dam, but when they failed there, they chose Dasu next”. “It was a blind case but Pakistani institutions managed to trace it,” he said
The tragic incident was investigated with the help of a 15-member Chinese security team.
