Following continuous, intensive dialogues with Sindh’s Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, aimed at addressing the contentious issue of canal construction on the majestic Indus River, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has clarified that there is absolutely no intent to misappropriate even a single drop of water that rightfully belongs to Sindh.
During an engaging discussion on a private television program, Rana Sanaullah, representing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), emphasized that the Sindh government is open to negotiations. He assured that the issue has been escalated to the Prime Minister’s level, affirming that PM Shehbaz Sharif will judiciously address the matter.
Sanaullah also remarked that Bilawal Bhutto’s comments at a recent public rally were impassioned and hasty, made in the fervor of a charged atmosphere. He suggested that such heated rhetoric should not be met with severe reactions, highlighting that maintaining decorum and mutual respect in public discourse is crucial.
‘While the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) remains open to dialogue,’ he mused, ‘the PM will establish the framework for discussion.’
Reflecting on the challenges encountered by the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the family of former premier Imran Khan while attempting to meet him in jail, the adviser remarked that the PTI ought to focus on bettering its internal affairs and collaborating with prison staff. He highlighted that when they enter the prison, they often stir up a tense and unbearable atmosphere.
Only individuals whose names are on the sanctioned list should be allowed to visit; there is no need for others to accompany them.
He stressed that both parties need to strive towards improving these matters, asserting that the founder of PTI should have the opportunity to meet his sisters.
