
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in the scenic lands of Azerbaijan to take part in the prestigious 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), unfolding in the culturally rich city of Khankendi, Republic of Azerbaijan, starting today.
He was greeted with uplifting warmth and enthusiasm by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture, Adil Karmali, along with distinguished senior government officials as he stepped onto Azerbaijani soil.
Accompanying the Prime Minister on this insightful two-day journey are esteemed figures: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the innovative Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and the insightful Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
The Summit revolves around the theme: ‘New ECO Vision for a Sustainable and Climate Resilient Future.’
Throughout the Summit, Prime Minister Sharif shall spearhead the Pakistani delegation and eloquently articulate Pakistan’s stance on pivotal regional and global issues.
With conviction, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering dedication to the ECO Vision 2025 and passionately advocate for bolstering intra-regional trade, enhancing transport connectivity, fortifying energy cooperation, and championing sustainable development.
On the periphery of the summit, Shehbaz Sharif will engage in direct bilateral dialogues with other ECO leaders, addressing topics of collective interest.
In an anticipatory statement, the Foreign Office disclosed that the prime minister will convey Pakistan’s perspective on critical regional and global issues, reinforce the nation’s commitment to the ECO Vision 2025, and advocate for intensified regional trade partnerships, transportation networks, energy synergies, and enduring economic growth.
Additionally, the prime minister’s agenda includes bilateral discussions with his counterparts from other ECO countries, focusing on mutual priorities in the context of the summit.
