Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday warmly welcomed the groundbreaking package for electricity consumers announced by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, under the dynamic leadership of PML-N President and former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
‘The decision to slash electricity rates by Rs 14 per unit for consumers using up to 500 units per month is a shining example of a people-centric initiative spearheaded by Nawaz Sharif and the Punjab Chief Minister,’ the prime minister said in an emphatic statement released by the PM Office.
He emphasized that, under Nawaz Sharif’s visionary guidance, providing public relief has been the government’s foremost priority since day one of his tenure.
Recently, the federal government also announced relief for electricity consumers using up to 200 units per month, achieved by reducing the annual development budget by an impressive Rs 50 billion.
He highlighted that, with Nawaz Sharif at the helm, the government is steadfastly taking measures to improve the lives of the populace.
‘Following economic stabilization, the country is now treading on the right path,’ he noted, adding that mitigating inflation and offering public relief remain the government’s top priorities.
The prime minister also assured the public that the government is tirelessly working towards a long-term solution to reduce electricity prices and is making all possible efforts in this regard.
