81st Pakistan Day being celebrated today

The 81st Pakistan Day is being celebrated today (Tuesday) with simplicity in wake of spike in cornavirus cases and with the pledge to fight the disease as it spreads across the country.

Special dua ceremonies were held at the mosques after Fajr prayers for eradication of coronavirus from the country and also seeking solidarity, integrity and prosperity of the country. The day dawned with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.

The state-run radio and television will broadcast special programmes and media houses will highlight the importance of Pakistan Day.

The Pakistan Day parade has been postponed due to forecast of “inclement weather and rain” over the next two days, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Monday.

The parade will now be held on March 25, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

“The Joint Services Pakistan Day Parade will now be held on 25th March, 2021 as per program and timings already specified,” it said.
