Pakistan beat West Indies by 109 runs to level series
Shaheen Shah Afridi completed a ten-wicket match haul to bowl Pakistan to a series-levelling 109-run victory over the West Indies in the final session of the second and final Test at Sabina Park on Tuesday.
On the fifth (final) day of the Test match, Pakistan needed 9 wickets to win while the West Indies needed 280 runs to win.
Shaheen Shah Afridi took 4 wickets, Noman Ali 3 wickets and Hassan Ali 2 wickets for Pakistan in the second innings. West Indies’ Jason Holder top-scored with 47 runs.
Earlier, Pakistan declared their first innings at 302 for nine. Fawad Alam scored 124 and captain Babar Azam 75 runs.
In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 150 in the first innings, after which Pakistan declared another 176 in the second innings and declared the innings to give the home side a target of 329 runs to win.
In the second Test, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi took 10 wickets overall. He was also awarded the best player of the match and series.
