Pakistan announces world cup T20 squad,Misbah and Waqar resigns as coaches

The national squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has been announced. Asif Ali and Khushdal Shah have returned to the team while former captain Sarfraz Ahmed has been ruled out.

The 15-member squad includes five batsmen, two wicketkeepers, four all-rounders and four fast bowlers and will also play in the T20 series against New Zealand and England.

In the squad announced by Pakistan, besides captain Babar Azam, vice-captain Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Azam Khan, Haris Rauf, Hassan Ali, Emad Wasim, Khushdal Shah, Muhammad Hafeez, Muhammad Hasnain, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Wasim Jr., Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sohaib Maqsood.

Besides, Fakhr Zaman, Shahnawaz Dhani and Usman Qadir have been included in the reserve players.

Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis resigned as head coaches and bowling coaches.

According to the PCB, former cricketers Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq will be the interim coaches in the New Zealand series.
