NCOC decides to more tighten the restrictions to curb Covid-19 outbreak

National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday has decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to rise in coronavirus positivity.

In a post on social-networking website Twitter, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said, “In the NCOC meeting this morning, we decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to sharp increase in covid positivity.”

“The provincial and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administrations were also directed to tighten implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and crackdown on violations which are taking place,” he added. 

Education minister Shafqat Mehmood,while adressing,said that there is a difference between teaching and online education in educational institutions and the Ministry of Education wants the educational institutions to remain open.

He said that things do not happen in online teaching that happen in the classroom , there is another meeting on March 24, the meeting will review whether to open educational institutions or not.

Later, addressing the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shafqat Mehmood said that the health department puts pressure but still does not close educational institutions. At present, the situation is bad due to Corona.

Shafqat Mahmood said that the NCOC thinks that there is a high risk of corona in schools, 50 million children are involved in education, then if there is any infection, it will spread.
