In a tragic turn of events, the esteemed religious scholar, Mufti Munir Shakir, has tragically lost his life in a catastrophic explosion that took place just outside a mosque located in the Armar area. This devastating incident also resulted in injuries to three other individuals.
According to the detailed police reports, the explosion occurred with significant impact outside the mosque, leading to four people, including Mufti Munir Shakir, sustaining injuries. They were promptly transported to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) for urgent medical treatment. Sadly, Mufti Munir Shakir succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
In the aftermath of the explosion, the police were joined by the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) at the scene to meticulously gather evidence. Authorities have disclosed that Mufti Munir Shakir’s injuries, particularly to his left foot, were critically serious and ultimately fatal. The other injured individuals, identified as Khushal, Abid, and Syed Nabi, received immediate medical attention at LRH.
