Kashmiri senior leader Syed Ali Gilani laid to rest,Pakistan observes mourning day

A day of mourning is being observed across the country on the directives of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan after veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 92.

According to details, Pakistan flag will remain fly at half-mast throughout the day to pay respect to the great leader.

Earlier, in a tweet, PM Imran Khan said: “Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kashmiri freedom fighter Syed Ali Geelani who struggled all his life for his people & their right to self determination. He suffered incarceration & torture by the Occupying Indian state but remained resolute.”

Senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani, who passed away yesterday, has been buried under tight security in the dark of night, according to a video statement of his special envoy Abdullah Gilani.

Syed Ali Gilani’s special envoy Abdullah Gilani said in a statement that the Indian army had seized the body of Syed Ali Gilani.

Abdullah Gilani further said that it is not known where Syed Ali Gilani had been buried.
