JI announces protests against K-Electric from June 7

The Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief said on Saturday that the party would hold protests against K-Electric in different parts of Karachi from June 7.

JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman announced that the party would hold a sit-in outside K Electric’s office on June 12.

For the past few months, the party has been protesting against hours of power outages across Karachi. Rehman said that the accounts of the power company need to be audited judicially.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said the city was facing a power crisis, but the company is still going to raise electricity prices.

He claimed that all political parties have joined hands with the power company to make money from the people of Karachi.
