Islamabad: Cloudburst triggers flood in different parts of capital,mother and child deaths reported
In Islamabad, continuous rains and cloudburst caused flooding in houses, killing a child and a mother.The mother and child were killed in Sector E11-2 of the federal capital.
According to the family, 4 children and their mother drowned when the water from the drain entered the house. The administration rescued 3 children and one child and mother drowned.
The uncle of the child who died in the floodwaters in E-11 told that the water entered the house at 6 am, and the back wall of the house collapsed at 15 minutes.
According to the uncle of the deceased child, my nephew and his mother drowned due to water entering the basement.
He said that the residents of the area drew water with their help, the administration arrived after 8.30 pm.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has assured that everything will be back to normal soon. He tweeted that due to cloudburst in Islamabad, floods have hit various areas. Teams are clearing drains / roads. Hopefully we’ll clear everything in an hour. All are requested to cooperate and limit unnecessary movement for the next 2 hours.

Heavy rains in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have caused flooding in many parts of the twin cities. Several vehicles were swept away in the floods in Sector E-11 and D-12.
