The federal government has announced a notable increase in the price of petrol, raising it by Rs8.36 per litre for the forthcoming fortnight, with the new rates taking effect from Tuesday, July 1. The revised petrol price has been meticulously set at Rs266.79 per litre.
Moreover, in a parallel move, the cost of high-speed diesel has undergone an upward revision by Rs10.39 per litre, as per the latest government proclamation, bringing its new price to Rs277.98.
Adding to the developments, sources have revealed that an additional carbon levy of Rs2.50 per litre has been instituted on both petrol and diesel.
