Prime Minister Imran Khan directs Nadeem Babar to resign
Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has demanded the resignation of Special Assistant to Nadeem Babar on last year’s petroleum crisis.
The PTI government took an important step on the petroleum crisis, on which Prime Minister Imran Khan directed his right hand man Nadeem Babar to resign.
In a press conference along with Federal Ministers Shafqat Mahmood and Shirin Mazari, Asad Umar made important revelations regarding the resignation of Nadeem Babar.
Asad Umar said that along with Special Assistant Nadeem Babar, Secretary Petroleum has also been removed from the post on the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said that there was no doubt about last year’s petroleum crisis that the agencies which were given the responsibility had failed to do so.
The Federal Minister further said that the Prime Minister is very clear that we have to determine why the responsibility has not been fulfilled on this issue.
“We have not held the Special Assistant or the Secretary General of Petroleum directly responsible. Anyone found guilty or complicit in the petroleum crisis will be imprisoned and handcuffed,” he said.
Asad Omar also said that who did not fulfill the responsibility? And was there an accomplice? These are two different things.
“It remains to be seen who stocked the petroleum products,” he said. These weaknesses have occurred, cases can be filed in court with evidence.
