PM Imran announces to take confidence vote from NA on saturday

Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to take a vote of confidence in the National Assembly the day after tomorrow (Saturday).

Addressing the nation, PM Imran Khan said that the message to Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) members is that I do not care if the government not stays.

“Whether I am in the opposition or out of the assembly, I will not let them go. I will take the nation out against them,” he said. As long as I live, I will work for the rule of law in the country.

The Prime Minister said that when we participated in the Senate elections for the first time 6 years ago, we realized that money involves in Senate elections.

He said that this money has been running for the last 4 decades and not from today. He said that who spends the money,he becomes a senator and buys members of assemblies.

The Prime Minister said that I had started the campaign for holding the Senate elections in an open ballot manner since I witnessed buying and selling of votes.

The Prime Minister said that we had introduced a bill for holding open ballot in the Senate elections. When it was not supported in assembly, we took the case to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court also said that money works while the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) opposed the open ballot.

Imran Khan said that the PML-N and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had decided in the Charter of Democracy that the Senate elections should be open ballots.

“Ever since I came into government, I have been saying that they will all become one,” he said. They want to put so much pressure on me to give them the NRO that former President General Musharraf did.

The Prime Minister said that when we brought the bill regarding the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), they refused to pass the bill and tried to blackmail it.

Speaking at the General Session in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the opposition had made a fuss in the Supreme Court that it should be a secret ballot so that it could spend more money for Yousuf Raza Gilani against Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.

The Prime Minister said that these people wanted to hang the sword of no-confidence vote on me, they did their best to break our members, eliminate our majority. Ending the majority is not a vote of no confidence.

While taking a jibe at Election Commission, the Prime Minister said that transparent elections were its constitutional responsibility, why did ECP support the secret elections.

He said that the Election Commission has damaged the democracy of Pakistan.
