Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif described the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Khawaja Asif objected to his own government’s budget during a talk show on a news channel.
He said that the tax in the recent budget was imposed due to pressure from the IMF, and the IMF is a threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty.
The defense minister further said that his city Sialkot is an export hub, and the tax imposed on exporters will benefit the corrupt mafia of the FBR.
He said that Ghulam Sarwar is a national criminal. Because of his statement, our flight routes were closed, resulting in losses of hundreds of billions of dollars.
Khawaja Asif also said that corruption involving billions of rupees is taking place in the Aviation Ministry. The prices of petrol have increased internationally, so they have been raised.
He said that there was pressure from the IMF on the government. The exporters were ready to give one and a half percent. I have been protesting for the exporters for 15 to 20 days.
The Defense Minister said that the PPP and MQM’s differences is not on ‘Operation isthekaam’ but at Sindh level. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif should play a role in ending it.
He said that there will be no displacement in Operation Azam-e-Taqwat. We are getting reports of terrorism, but the operation will be in specific places.
Khawaja Asif said that both JUI and ANP were involved in the decision of February 8 elections.
He said that since Jamaat-e-Islami came into the hands of Jamiat-i-Talaba, its high principles were compromised. They should remember that they stood with Pervez Musharraf.
