Hamid Karzai will stay in the country,US to deploy troops to complete evacuation

Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai says he will stay in the country and work to resolve issues through dialogue.

In his message, Hamid Karzai appealed to the people to stay at home.

US officials say 6,000 US troops will be deployed in Afghanistan in 48 hours.

A joint statement issued by the US Department of Defense and the State Department said that efforts were underway to secure Kabul Airport and that the US and its allies wanted a safe evacuation of military and civilian personnel.

US officials say air traffic control in Afghanistan will also be taken over, and US citizens and Afghan staff, including families, will be evacuated from Afghanistan.

It was also said that Afghan citizens with special visas would also be deported soon. 2,000 Afghans with special visas have been transferred to the United States.

On the other hand, the chairman of the Afghan Reconciliation Council, Abdullah Abdullah, is likely to accompany the delegation to Qatar for talks with the Taliban.

On this occasion, the spokesman of the Taliban political office Muhammad Naeem said that the war in Afghanistan is over, the Taliban have got the fruits of 20 years of struggle and sacrifices, the shape of the new system of government in Afghanistan will be clear soon.

“The Taliban do not want to harm anyone, they will take every step responsibly, they are ready to discuss the concerns of the international community,” Naeem said in a statement.

A spokesman for the Taliban’s political office said no one would be allowed to use Afghan soil against anyone.

Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen said the lives and property of Afghan citizens were safe and that women’s rights in Afghanistan would be respected, and wanted a peaceful transfer of power in the next few days.
