Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has shared her thoughts on becoming a mother for the second time at the age of 41, describing the experience as both physically and emotionally distinct. She admitted that she never anticipated experiencing motherhood again at this point in her life.

In an interview during her appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, Mahira Khan opened up about her pregnancy and the various experiences she has encountered during this chapter of her life.

The actress mentioned that when she learned she was expecting again, her life was already progressing in a specific direction. Her son had matured, and she had adapted to a lifestyle focused on her career, routines, and independence.

Mahira expressed that she had imagined a certain way of living at this stage, but embarking on this journey again after several years brought about a profound emotional shift for her.

She noted that while people often make plans for their lives, ultimately, God has His own intentions, which are undoubtedly the best.

According to Mahira, this experience has taught her that it is unnecessary to control everything or have all the answers beforehand. Sometimes, she remarked, one must allow life to unfold unexpectedly and submit to God’s will.

Reflecting on her first experience of motherhood, Mahira recalled being 24 when she had her first child, and at 41, she feels like a different woman, both emotionally and physically.

Ben Duckett’s unbeaten 82 helps England seal a 3-0 whitewash of Pakistan https://newsbreaktv.com/england-win-pakistan/ Mon, 14 Sep 2026 13:13:52 +0000 https://newsbreaktv.com/?p=12940

England achieved a 3-0 Test series victory over Pakistan by successfully chasing a target of 130 runs, finishing with eight wickets remaining on the fourth day in Birmingham.

Pakistan, having been bowled out for a mere 133 in their first innings, demonstrated improved determination in their second innings, amassing 449 runs to set England a relatively modest target. Earlier, England had posted 453 runs, establishing a significant first-innings lead.

The home team faced a tumultuous beginning to their chase, losing both opening batsmen in the very first over. Ben Duckett was out for a first-ball duck, while Emilio Gay also went back to the pavilion without scoring on the last ball of the over.

Joe Root and Jordan Cox took charge of the innings, with Root scoring a steady 62 and Cox remaining not out on 59, leading England to a total of 134 for two and sealing the victory.

Pakistan’s second innings featured several key performances. Shan Masood fell just short of a century, finishing with 95, while Babar Azam contributed 76 and Azan Awais added 59. Saud Shakeel chipped in with 29, and Ghazi Ghori scored 16.

The lower order gave Pakistan a late surge, highlighted by Test debutant Razaullah, who made an impressive 81, including nine sixes and four fours. Mohammad Abbas also played a brisk innings of 40, helping Pakistan to extend their total to 449.

England’s early wickets briefly raised Pakistan’s hopes of defending their total, but Root and Cox managed the pressure effectively, gradually steering the match to a close.

With this eight-wicket victory, England achieved wins in all three Tests, completing a thorough series whitewash against Pakistan.

SBP keeps policy rate unchanged at 11.5pc https://newsbreaktv.com/sbp-interest-rate/ Mon, 14 Sep 2026 12:04:15 +0000 https://newsbreaktv.com/?p=12938

On Monday, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) decided to keep the key policy rate steady at 11.5 percent.

This decision comes in light of ongoing tensions in the Middle East, which have led to an increase in global oil prices and heightened inflationary pressures.

While bankers anticipated that the central bank would hold the rate steady, some analysts had forecasted a 50-basis-point hike in the policy rate.

The SBP’s MPC made this decision during its second meeting of the current fiscal year.

Prior to making their decision, the committee assessed the latest economic conditions, including inflation rates, economic growth, developments in the external sector, and other significant financial indicators.

Previously, the SBP had maintained the policy rate at 11.5% during its meeting on June 15, following a 100 basis point increase to 11.5% in April.

This latest decision is being closely monitored by businesses, investors, and financial markets for indications regarding the future trajectory of monetary policy.

The central bank has reiterated that its monetary policy approach is focused on keeping inflation within the medium-term target range of 5–7% while fostering sustainable economic growth.

PM Shehbaz announces Rs100 per litre fuel relief for bikes, rickshaws, small cars https://newsbreaktv.com/pm-shehbaz-announces-discount/ Sun, 13 Sep 2026 14:18:31 +0000 https://newsbreaktv.com/?p=12934

On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unveiled a special fuel relief initiative aimed at alleviating the financial strain caused by rising petrol prices for users of motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi, and small cars. This announcement comes in light of escalating global oil prices due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East, as reported by the PM Office.

This announcement follows a recent increase in petrol prices by Rs3.05 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5.37 per litre, effective from Friday through Monday, marking the fourth consecutive rise in fuel prices.

The new scheme will provide users of motorcycles, rickshaws, and other two- and three-wheel vehicles with a relief of Rs100 per litre on a maximum of 20 litres of petrol each month. Additionally, owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc will also qualify for the same Rs100-per-litre relief on up to 30 litres monthly.

The initiative will be implemented in Islamabad starting from the night between Monday and Tuesday, with a nationwide rollout, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, commencing from the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Registration for the scheme began on Sunday, with further details about the registration process to be shared through an awareness campaign.

Shehbaz emphasized that the government is acutely aware of the challenges posed by rising oil prices and is committed to supporting the public during these tough times. He expressed gratitude to the provinces for their assistance in gathering information on motorcycles, rickshaws, and small vehicles to streamline the registration process for the relief scheme.

It is important to note that while international oil prices dipped on Friday, they are still projected to achieve a weekly increase of over 8%. Meanwhile, US diesel prices have reached an all-time high due to concerns over potential supply disruptions stemming from attacks on shipping routes in the Middle East.

Brent crude futures closed at USD104.61 per barrel, reflecting a decrease of USD3.02, or 2.81%.

Pakistan calls for global cooperation on digital assets https://newsbreaktv.com/pakistan-cooperation-digital-assets/ Sun, 13 Sep 2026 04:59:32 +0000 https://newsbreaktv.com/?p=12930

Pakistan has urged for enhanced global collaboration to establish regulatory and institutional frameworks for digital assets, cautioning that nations must either take charge of the future of finance or risk being dictated by it.

Bilal Bin Saqib, Minister of State and Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), expressed these views while delivering a keynote address virtually at the United Nations Headquarters during a session titled “Digital Assets and Blockchain for Sustainable Development: Advancing Digital Finance through Innovation.”

This session was organized by the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations in partnership with UNDP, UNCTAD, and the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology (ODET), uniting member states, UN agencies, and private-sector participants.
Bin Saqib emphasized that digital assets, tokenization, and distributed ledger technologies present emerging economies with a chance to rethink their financial infrastructure in terms of inclusion, efficiency, and accessibility.

“The issue at hand is not whether these technologies will expand. They will. The real question is: who will influence their development, and for whose benefit?” he stated.

He underscored the extent of global financial exclusion, pointing out that approximately 1.4 billion adults are still outside the formal financial system, while billions more encounter high remittance costs, sluggish settlement processes, and restricted access to credit.

The minister noted that the average expense of transferring USD200 internationally exceeds twice the 3 percent target established under Sustainable Development Goal 10.c, arguing that bridging this gap could return billions of dollars to families each year.

He asserted that the promise of digital finance goes beyond mere payments and remittances.

Digital identity and verifiable financial histories, he said, could enable small businesses, farmers and women entrepreneurs to demonstrate economic activity without relying solely on conventional collateral or documentation. Similarly, tokenisation could help mobilise capital by fractionalising assets ranging from infrastructure bonds to renewable energy projects, while distributed ledger technology could enhance transparency in public expenditure and supply chains.

However, Bin Saqib cautioned that technology should not be viewed as an automatic solution to development challenges. He identified risks including retail market volatility, illicit finance, concentration of economic power and the growing regulatory divide between countries with advanced digital capabilities and those lacking institutional capacity. “The choice before every Member State is not regulate or don’t regulate. It is simpler, and starker, than that: to govern the future, or be governed by it,” he said.

The PVARA chairman stressed that regulation needed to evolve alongside technological innovation, warning that delayed regulation could expose consumers and markets to risks, while regulation driven primarily by fear could push digital activity into less transparent environments.

He said the emerging global experience suggested that regulation should be viewed as a means of building markets rather than blocking them.

“No nation rises alone, and no nation should be left to rise alone,” Bin Saqib said, urging member states to turn the UN briefing into the beginning of deeper international cooperation.

Iran sets seven conditions for reopening Strait of Hormuz https://newsbreaktv.com/iran-sets-seven-conditions/ Sun, 13 Sep 2026 04:50:08 +0000 https://newsbreaktv.com/?p=12928

Iran has conveyed seven conditions to the United States via intermediaries, with the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz contingent upon their fulfillment.

As reported by Tasnim and a source familiar with the situation, Iran has communicated these conditions to Washington through mediators.

“Iran has presented seven conditions to the United States through intermediaries for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and the strait will remain closed until these seven conditions, which have been approved by the highest authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, are met.

Thus, the agreement between Iran and Oman does not imply that the Strait of Hormuz is being reopened,” the source stated.

The source further indicated that the reopening of the strait is entirely dependent on the actions of Washington.

On Saturday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the United States of targeting civilian infrastructure and depriving Iranians of essential needs, asserting that Tehran would not yield to pressure.

“If Americans are warriors, let them confront our brave military forces,” Pezeshkian expressed on X. “Why wage war on civilian infrastructure, food supplies, and livelihoods?”

He also charged Washington with denying access to water, food, and medicine. “Our people cannot be coerced into submission. Iran will not surrender.”]} }}

The meeting of the special committee on the Sindh Local Government Amendment Act 2026 ended inconclusively.

The government members claimed that some of the opposition’s recommendations had been included in the bill, however, opposition members rejected the government’s claim, saying that none of their proposals had been accepted.

Similarly, the opposition said that their suggestions were not sought during the preparation of the bill, while suggestions were sought after the government’s amendment bill was presented in the assembly.

Sources said that the Sindh Local Government Amendment Act 2026 is likely to be presented in the House for approval on Monday or Tuesday, while the MQM has warned that strong protests will be launched if their proposals are not included in the bill.

Jamaat-e-Islami member Muhammad Farooq opposed the appointment of administrators, saying that the party is not in favour of appointing administrators in local government institutions.
