Fazlur Rehman threatens to step down as head of PDM

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has threatened to leave the chieftaincy of the 11-party opposition alliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), after expressing annoyance over the sole decisions of Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

As per sources, he complained that participation in the by-elections was announced without taking the PDM into confidence while participation in the Senate elections was announced in the media.

He said that PPP and PML-N were imposing their decisions on PDM. It was decided that every decision would be taken in consultation with the PDM parties, smaller parties have concerns that PPP and PML-N are using them, he added.
