Dipika Kakar, esteemed as one of the most cherished icons of Indian television, has been displaying incredible resilience as she steadily recovers from a surgery for stage 2 liver cancer. In a sincerely touching new vlog, her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, conveyed an emotional update about her health that has deeply resonated with fans nationwide.
The video, released on his YouTube channel, gives an intimate glimpse into the actress’s journey from post-operative pain to smiling moments with their son Ruhaan. Shoaib, who has been updating well-wishers since Dipika’s diagnosis, said, “Kaafi better hai… ab chalna phirna start ho gaya hai… normal diet pe aa gayi hai”—assuring viewers that Dipika is now walking again, back on a normal diet, and doing much better overall.
Opening up about the critical recovery days, Shoaib revealed that Dipika had difficulty sleeping post-surgery and endured significant pain, especially after developing a severe cough. The pain from her stitches, he said, intensified with every cough and made her nights uneasy—until April 8, when she finally had a peaceful night’s sleep.
A particularly emotional moment was Shoaib recounting Dipika’s fear inside the ICU. “Naak mei ek tube bhi hota hai… usko lekar panic kar rahi thi,” he shared, narrating how the presence of a nasal tube made her anxious, thinking she would remain in the ICU for days. But thankfully, she recovered swiftly enough to return home soon after.
