A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has revealed the sorrowful news that the mother of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has departed this world.
Today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tendered his sincere condolences following the passing of General Munir’s dear mother.
The PM Office released a message on this sad occasion, with the Prime Minister expressing his profound empathy and unity with the mourning family during their time of profound grief.
Moreover, President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed his deep grief, as per APP.
“We share the grief of General Syed Asim Munir over his mother’s passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved family during this difficult time,” the president said.
Meanwhile, Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani also prayed for the departed soul and extended his sympathies to the COAS.
“May Allah Almighty grant patience and strength to General Asim Munir and his family,” the chairman said.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi too expressed condolences and said, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of the Army Chief’s mother.”
“May He also grant patience and strength to the bereaved family.”
Condolences came from Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, federal ministers Khalid Hussain Magsi and Rana Tanveer Hussain.
