Senior Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh has voiced his anger at Bushra Ansari’s sarcastic remarks about his divorce during a recent event.

He appeared at a press event alongside Behrooz Sabzwari, Rubina Ashraf, Bushra Ansari and Shabbir Jan.

At the ceremony, Bushra Ansari made a sarcastic remark about Javed Sheikh’s divorce, which upset him and led to a sharp response.

A video from the event circulating on social media captures Bushra Ansari saying, ‘I went to Javed Sheikh’s house; he didn’t even give me anything to eat because he didn’t have a house at that time. His house was built before my eyes and later demolished before my eyes. All this happened in front of me, not because of me.’

Javed Sheikh expressed anger and responded: ‘What Bushra said about my divorce was a joke, but someone’s house being destroyed or broken is not something to be happy about. I never talked about their broken house, nor did I ask why their marriage ended.’ He also told Bushra, ‘Next time you tell my story, make sure you tell your story too, because your marriage was not successful either.’

After the clip went viral, users reacted critically to Bushra Ansari’s comment. One person wrote that the friendship between the two had fallen victim to the evil eye, another said Bushra sometimes speaks unnecessarily and too much. Others called her a great artist and a legend but said her attitude toward Omar seems to be changing. Several users defended Javed Sheikh, calling him a legend and condemning the mockery aimed at him.

Written and directed by Ammar Rasool, the film tells the story of Mansoor Ali Khan, a respected novelist played by Fawad Khan, who comes back to Lahore and encounters Neelofar, played by Mahira Khan. Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan are set to light up cinema screens once again as their much-awaited film Neelofar finally gears up for release this winter, after years of delays.

The announcement came through a joint Instagram post by the film’s team, featuring the caption: “Agli mulaqat ka intezar rahay ga… Neelofar — This winter.”

The post included a short video, showing a woman and a man with their foreheads pressed against each other sillhotted against a red backdrop.

The film had initially been slated for a December 2022 release but reportedly faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project has since been the subject of endless speculation, with fans eagerly awaiting an update.

Mahira, in an emotional wrap-up post at the end of filming in 2020, had shared: “I take with me a piece of you, leaving a bit of my soul with you… My darling Neelofar, I shall miss you, oh so much… Each and every one of them put their heart and soul in it. Renowned playwright and poet Khalilur Rehman Qamar has poignantly responded to the critiques directed at his dramas, asserting that certain famous personalities criticize his work without genuine justification.

It’s not every day that you step into a press conference in the vibrant city of Dubai, only to witness the male actor receiving more attention than the female lead.

Yet, this was precisely the scene on a lively Monday afternoon when Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan and Indian actress Vaani Kapoor met with the local media to discuss their upcoming romantic comedy, Abir Gulaal.

During the music launch of Abir Gulaal at Global Village in Dubai on April 19, Fawad Khan surprised the crowd by performing the iconic song ‘Kuch Na Kaho’ live on stage.

The unexpected performance elicited enthusiastic reactions from the audience, who had gathered in great numbers for this public spectacle. Khan, who plays the lead role opposite Vaani Kapoor, sang this beloved 1994 track, originally from the film 1942: A Love Story.

Interestingly, this same song makes a brief appearance in the teaser of Abir Gulaal.

The crowd began chanting Fawad Khan’s name ahead of his appearance. When he arrived on stage, the venue saw a noticeable increase in energy. His live rendition of the track was met with loud applause and cheers.

The film they’re promoting is set against the vibrant backdrop of London and will grace UAE cinemas on May 9th. It serves as a nostalgic nod to simpler storytelling—an artful escape in today’s intensely dramatic cinematic world. Unlike the gore-heavy tales of Jeffrey Dahmer, this film is more akin to the enchanting Before Sunrise trilogy.

Fawad shared his thoughts, likening the film to a comforting dish, saying, ‘Everything nowadays feels so dark and dramatic. This, however, is like a simple meal, featuring just a few flavors, easy to savor and digest.’

Vaani Kapoor, with her grounded and thoughtful demeanor, added, ‘This film captures the essence of realism. It’s not overly dramatic, yet it’s fun, simply showcasing the characters being themselves.’ She also mused about love in modern times, ‘I’m old-fashioned. I believe in loyalty and commitment. In his video message, Behroze Sabzwari has explained about his viral audio and said that I did not give any statement against the army and the audio that went viral is fake which was created by someone with the help of artificial intelligence.

He said that the army is our pride, the army has always sacrificed its life for the Pakistanis and we can also sacrifice our lives for the army.

Actor Behroze Sabzwari said that Allah will take account of those who are spreading such things against the army.

Expressing his solidarity with the Pakistan forces, he added that I should tell those who are sorry that this is all a lie.

Behroze Sabzwari also says that everyone should pray to Allah that Pakistan and the Pakistani army remain safe.

Renowned TV and film star Syed Afzaal Ahmad, popularly known as Afzaal Chitta, passed away in Lahore on Friday after a protracted illness. He was 82.

Afzaal had suffered a brain hemorrhage in November 2001 after which his life never remained the same, leaving him with a speech impairment. On Thursday, his condition deteriorated and he was rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last on Friday. Afzaal is survived by his wife and three daughters.

His funeral prayers will be held at his Raiwind Road residence on Saturday after some relatives fly in from aboard.
