Senior actor Bushra Ansari sharply criticized Javed Akhtar for his provocative comments urging India to take action against Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack. She accused him of seeking the limelight and failing to acknowledge his advanced age, all while standing up for the ordinary Indian populace.
Akhtar, in his heated remarks, had advocated for a strong response due to Pakistan’s supposed involvement in cross-border terrorism.
Bushra Ansari has fervently condemned Indian lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar for his recent remarks. Akhtar’s comments, urging the Indian government to take stringent measures against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, have sparked outrage. With tensions mounting between the two nations after the tragic loss of 26 lives, predominantly Indian tourists, in the attack on April 22, her remarks resonate with the complex emotions of this period.
While traveling overseas, Bushra expressed her views, launching a personal critique aimed at Akhtar. She accused him of leveraging political issues for personal gain, implying that he is fading into insignificance within India’s film industry. She harshly suggested that, despite having only ‘a few hours left in life,’ he persists in making reckless statements. Initially not naming him directly, she rebuked him for his lack of moderation and described his assertions as disgraceful.
In a pointed reference to veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, Bushra suggested Javed should emulate Shah’s example of silence. She claimed that other Indian artists uphold dignity and decorum, unlike Akhtar who relishes igniting controversy. Despite her severe tone, Bushra emphasized that ordinary Indian citizens were not at fault and had extended kindness to her during overseas interactions. She asserted that the populace was being ‘provoked’ into animosity.
