Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, emerged gracefully in Peshawar on Thursday after being released from Adiala Jail on bail, ending a long 265 days of confinement.
In the aftermath of this significant event, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan made it clear that Bushra Bibi’s freedom was earned on merit, dismissing any notions of it being the outcome of a deal.
As she reached Attock bridge, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and various officials extended a heartfelt welcome. The grand arrival at the Chief Minister House, Peshawar, was marked by sincere greetings from Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and his Cabinet.
Meanwhile, sources revealed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan sent an urgent message through Barrister Salman Akram Raja advising Bushra Bibi to choose Peshawar over Lahore as her sanctuary. Bushra Bibi will be residing at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar, where her health will be evaluated at Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
Influential figures like Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan and Chief Minister Gandapur encouraged her decision to embrace Peshawar for her new beginning. Her release from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi followed the Islamabad High Court’s decision to grant her bail against surety bonds worth Rs1 million relating to the Toshakhana-II case.
