Story of Arshad Nadeem ‘ Mian Channu to Tokyo Olympics’
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem made the journey from Mian Channu to Tokyo thanks to his hard work. He did not get an ‘invitation quota’ or a ‘wild card’ entry, but it was his performance that got Arshad Nadeem to this place.
Arshad Nadeem reached the Olympic Stadium while exercising with rusty equipment.
He had set a new South Asian Games record in 2019 by throwing a javelin at a distance of 86.29 meters in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Based on this performance, he was able to qualify directly for the Tokyo Olympics.
To date, no Pakistani athlete has reached the final of the Olympic javelin throw event, making Arshad Nadeem the first Pakistani athlete to reach the final.
