Pakistan’s star athlete Arshad Nadeem was awarded his gold medal for his phenomenal and record-shattering performance in the javelin throw final at the prestigious Paris Olympics.
On Thursday, the remarkable Pakistani thrower launched his javelin beyond the “OR” boxes positioned in the infield, reaching an astounding 92.97 meters – setting a new Olympic record and surpassing the previous mark established at the Beijing 2008 Games.
Nadeem received his gold medal during a grand ceremony held at Champions Park, near the iconic Eiffel Tower. The ceremony not only celebrated his extraordinary achievement but also honored the victors of the 13th day of the Olympics.
Arshad Nadeem made history by becoming the first individual Olympic gold medalist from Pakistan. He obliterated the previous Olympic record of 90.57 meters, set in the 2008 Beijing Olympics by Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen.
