Spokesman of the Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, has asserted unwaveringly that the army’s position on the events of May 9 remains unchanged, and it shall remain so.
During an illuminating press briefing at GHQ Rawalpindi, Director General (DG) of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, emphasized the inefficacy of current laws against the rampant spread of digital terrorism.
Expressing his disdain, he described these digital terrorists, operating from abroad and relentlessly spreading malicious narratives against the nation and its revered institutions for monetary gain, as unscrupulous individuals.
DG ISPR further revealed disturbing details about the Baloch Solidarity Committee, describing its so-called leadership as mere puppets of terrorist organizations. They propagate discord by mobilizing groups with external funding, cloaking their disruptive agendas in the guise of human rights advocacy.
He remarked on the recent exposure of the proxies of Baloch Rajye Machi, identifying them as part of a nefarious mafia intent on stymying the nation’s progress, exploiting the populace in their manipulative schemes.
Highlighting the plight of border area residents in Balochistan, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif noted their reliance on trade with Iran. He warned that if the Iranian border is entirely shut, it would provide the mafia an opportunity to voice dissent against the army, stressing the ongoing efforts to curb petrol smuggling from Iran.
The DG ISPR stressed the crucial importance of resolving the Kashmir issue for enduring regional peace. He condemned India’s illegal actions in occupied Kashmir, deeming them a threat to regional stability, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiris in their quest for self-determination.
In the course of today’s detailed press conference, he reviewed the social welfare initiatives spearheaded by the armed forces, proudly announcing that 24 terrorists had been eliminated in operations over the past 15 days.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif also stated that the Government of Pakistan has outlawed two terrorist groups, including the TTP, which has been rebranded under the name Fitnah-ul-Khawarij.
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif said that Pakistan’s forces are focusing on the merged tribal districts of Pakhtunkhwa and the affected areas of Balochistan, where local and foreign companies are working on many projects.
DG ISPR says that the students of Balochistan are the future of the country, and has started a comprehensive scholarship program for the students of Balochistan, in which other expenses are being borne along with education.
DG ISPR said that so far 23622 intelligence-based operations have been conducted against terrorists, 24 terrorists have been arrested in 15 days, operations are being conducted against terrorists on a daily basis.
